Gordon’s Bay, originally a fishing hamlet, still attracts fishermen from far and wide who patiently cast their lines waiting for a bite. The historic ‘Trekboom’ which was used to help pull in the fishing nets can still be seen opposite the NG Kerk in Beach Road. In modern day the sport has been made more exciting by the opportunity to fish from high tech cruisers and other sea craft.
